Murder at the Farmers Market

If you look at what category this entry is in, you'll see I've put it in "Every Day Stuff" because murders around Phoenix are an every day event.

Even if they happen in the parking lot of the Downtown Phoenix Public Market.

Now, we've only attended this market a couple of times, but yesterday's visit was just plain weird as the customer parking lot was roped off with Police tape and investigators were on the scene.

From what we were told by merchants, there was a murder there Friday night or early Saturday morning. Apparently an argument that started at a local bar spilled out into this parking lot and ended in someone being shot to death.

The truly sad part of all this -- I can't find a single mention of this murder on the local news websites. Not a thing.

The market carried on with the buzz of the murder throughout, but sales were brisk, the vendors were chatty and helpful, and the products, especially the produce, were fantastic as always.

If you go, be sure to print out a few $1.00 off coupons. See their website for details.
