Apology Accepted

Because of their meeting with Don and Diedre Imus yesterday, the Rutgers women's basketball team has
accepted Imus' apology for being stupid and insulting them on-air.
Finally, an appropriate reaction to this mess. To the women of Rutgers, thank you for rising above the fray, getting to know the idiot who insulted you, and hearing him out.
Now, please take a look through your music collections and start discarding all the hate, racism, and mysogyny that's quite likely rampant throughout. Seriously, we'll all be better for it, most especially yourselves, for letting go of all that negativity.
Of course, Don Imus has been guilty of making outrageous comments for years. It's what he was until recently paid to do.
See the outrage over the years courtesy of TomPaine.com. Note the participation once again of Imus' producer, Bernard McGuirk, who seems to be unscathed by all the recent (and past) hubbub. McGuirk is, in fact, quite often more over the top than Imus, himself. And yet, McGuirk is still employed. How does that happen?
